Modern Resource management is
rooted in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to display
conditions on the ground in relation to other features in the surrounding
area. Using up-to-date data in resource management allows for
management decisions to be dictated by on the ground conditions.
Vision Forestry is capable of using
available data and field collected GPS data to generate colorful maps that
display multiple data layers of your property. These features can be overlaid onto modern aerial
photos, topographic maps, or ADC maps. Streams, roads, buildings,
forest stands, wetlands, are just a few of the data layers that can be
displayed in a visual format. Shapes created in GIS are also linked to
databases that provide detailed description s of the selected feature.
Vision Forestry has experience
using both ArcView 3.2 and the ArcGIS Version 8. In
addition, we utilize CMT's March II GPS unit and PC GPS software.
